Coaching is the gift of structure. Coaches help us ensure our actions are aligned with our path going forward. If our actions are aligned with our goals, then we are more effortlessly committed. One way of creating this alignment is to put in place a structure. For example, if we say we are committed to spending time with family but end up spending 100 hours a week at work, then they are only trying, they are not committed.
When you are truly committed to a goal or vision you can put in place structures – supportive systems and strategies to make the time, money and energy needed to achieve them.
